ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To study the effect and potential mechanism of eriodictyol on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). METHODS Sixteen C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into control group, NAFLD model group, and eriodictyol low-dose and high-dose groups (50, 100 mg/kg), with 4 mice in each group. Except for control group, the other groups were fed with high fat diet to induce NAFLD model. After four weeks of preprocessing, they were given relevant medicine intraperitoneally (0.01 mL/g), once a day, for 6 consecutive weeks. The body weight and liver weight of mice were measured, and the pathological damage of liver tissue in mice was observed. The levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), and triglycerides (TG) in serum, as well as the protein expressions of nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) in liver tissue were determined. In vitro NAFLD model was established by using 0.5 mmol/L oleic acid (OA) in HepG2 cells. Normal control group, NAFLD model group and eriodictyol low-, medium- and high-concentration groups (50, 100, 150 μmol/L) were set up. HepG2 cells in drug groups were treated with eriodictyol for 24 h at the time of modeling. The lipid deposition was observed in cells, and the levels of TG, malondialdehyde (MDA) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) as well as the phosphorylation levels of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal pathway related proteins [extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), c- Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)] and the protein expressions of Nrf2 and HO-1 were all determined. RESULTS In the in vivo experiment, compared with the NAFLD model group, the body weight, liver weight, the serum levels of AST, ALT and TG were all decreased significantly in eriodictyol low- and high-dose groups (except for serum level of AST in eriodictyol low-dose group) (P<0.01); liver lipid deposition was reduced significantly and the protein expressions of Nrf2 and HO-1 in liver tissues were further up-regulated (P<0.01). In the in vitro experiment, compared with the NAFLD model group, the lipid deposition in hepatocytes was reduced in eriodictyol low-, medium- and high-concentration groups (P<0.01), and the levels of ROS, MDA and TG were down-regulated (P<0.05 or P<0.01); the phosphorylation levels of ERK and JNK were significantly down-regulated (P<0.01), while the protein expressions of Nrf2 and HO-1 were up-regulated significantly (P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS Eriodictyol can inhibit MAPK signaling pathway and activate Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway to alleviate NAFLD.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To explore the effects and potential mechanism of veratramine (VTM) on the proliferation of human glioblastoma U251 cells. METHODS The network pharmacology methods were adopted to screen the targets of ferroptosis related to the effects of VTM on glioblastoma, and to conduct gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genosomes enrichment analysis. Using U251 cells as the object, CCK-8 assay, the observation of cell morphological changes, DCFH-DA fluorescence probe method, FerroOrange fluorescence probe method and Western blot assay were used to validate the inhibitory effects of VTM on U251 cell proliferation and its possible mechanism. RESULTS Totally 462 targets of ferroptosis related to the effects of VTM on glioblastoma were screened out; they mainly enriched in biological processes such as oxidative stress and apoptosis, and cellular components such as cytoplasmic vesicles and mitochondrial membranes; they affected molecular functions such as iron ion (Fe2+) binding and DNA transcription processes, as well as iron death and phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B signaling pathways. VTM with 40, 60, 80, 100, 120 and 140 μmol/L could significantly reduce the cell survival rate (P< 0.01); VTM with 40, 80 and 120 μmol/L could cause cell atrophy and nuclear fragmentation, significantly inhibit the clone formation, increase the levels of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and Fe2+ levels, increase the expressions of nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1) protein to different extents, while down-regulate the expression of glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) protein (P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS VTM can inhibit the proliferation of U251 cells, and promote the accumulation of intracellular ROS and Fe2+, thus inducing ferroptosis; its mechanism might be related to the regulation of the Nrf2/HO-1/GPX4 signaling pathway.

ABSTRACT

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered the liver manifestation of metabolic syndrome and is closely associated with the development and progression of colorectal neoplasms. This article reviews the association of NAFLD with colorectal adenoma (CRA) and colorectal cancer (CRC) and possible mechanism, and it is believed that NAFLD promotes the development of CRA and CRC and affects their prognosis, and various factors, such as insulin resistance, adipocytokine, inflammatory response, intestinal flora, and immunity, may be involved in this process.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the risk factors for failure in emergency endoscopic injection sclerotherapy (EIS) combined with sequential histoacryl injection (HI) for esophagogastric variceal bleeding (EGVB) with portal vein embolus (PVE). MethodsA total of 109 EGVB patients with PVE who underwent emergency gastroscopy in Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical University, and The Fifth Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 2018 to December 2019 were enrolled, and according to the outcome of hemostatic treatment under emergency gastroscopy, the patients were divided into hemostatic failure group with 28 patients and hemostatic success group with 81 patients. The two groups were compared in terms of general information, varices and bleeding manifestations under gastroscopy, blood biochemical parameters, Child-Pugh class, and Model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD) score, and the risk factors for hemostatic failure were analyzed. The t-test or the Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison of continuous data between groups, and the chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical data between groups; a logistic regression analysis was used for multivariate analysis. ResultsCompared with the hemostatic success group, the hemostatic failure group had significantly higher peripheral white blood cell count (WBC), total bilirubin (TBil), Child-Pugh class, and MELD score (Z=3.794, Z=4.751, χ2=40.104, Z=6.412, all P<0001) and significantly lower prothrombin time activity (PTA), albumin (Alb), and cholinesterase (CHE) (t=9.653, Z=3.093, Z=4.092, P<0.001, P=0.002, and P<0.001). WBC (odds ratio [OR]=28.543, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.285-634.113, P<0.05), PTA(OR=0.194, 95%CI: 0.045-0.835, P<0.05), TBil (OR=2.197, 95%CI: 1.004-4.810, P<0.05), Alb (OR=0448, 95%CI: 0.209-0.961, P<0.05), and Child-Pugh class (OR=5.164, 95%CI: 1.307-20.406, P<0.05) were independent risk factors for hemostatic failure. ConclusionWBC, PTA, TBil, Alb, and Child-Pugh class are independent risk factors for failure in emergency EIS combined with sequential HI in the treatment of EGVB with PVE, and adequate preoperative evaluation and correction may help to improve the success rate of hemostasis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To determine whether postoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) improves the survival outcomes of cervical cancer patients with pelvic and/or para-aortic lymph node metastasis after radical surgery.Methods:Clinical data of 188 cervical cancer patients presenting with pelvic and/or para-aortic lymph node metastasis after radical surgery between February 2008 and November 2011 were retrospectively analyzed. The incidence of pelvic and/or para-aortic lymph node metastasis was confirmed by postoperative pathology. The clinical efficacy of CCRT was evaluated.Results:Recurrence/metastasis occurred in 46 patients. In the radiotherapy alone group, 4(57.1%) patients had recurrence/metastasis in the posterior peritoneum subgroup, 5(55.6%) in the iliac subgroup and 11(28.2%) in the pelvic non-iliac subgroup, respectively. In the CCRT group, there were 5(62.5%) cases of recurrence/metastasis in the posterior peritoneum subgroup, 5(25%) in the iliac subgroup and 16(15.2%) in the pelvic non-iliac subgroup, respectively. Compared with the radiotherapy alone, CCRT could significantly improve the 5-year overall survival (OS) rate of patients with pelvic without iliac lymph node metastasis or iliac lymph node metastasis (pelvic without iliac: 88.6% vs.76.9%, P=0.003; iliac: 80.0% vs.44.4%, P=0.041), whereas failed to improve the 5-year OS of patients with para-aortic lymph node metastasis (50.0% vs.42.9%, P=0.973). The location of lymph node metastasis and CCRT were the independent prognostic factors for OS (para-aortic vs. pelvic without iliac: hazard ratio[HR]=4.259, 95% CI=1.700-10.671, P=0.002; iliac vs. pelvic without iliac: HR=2.985, 95% CI=1.290-6.907, P=0.011; concurrent chemotherapy vs. radiotherapy alone: HR=0.439, 95% CI=0.218-0.885, P=0.021). Conclusions:CCRT can improve the survival of patients with pelvic lymph node metastasis, but it fails to enhance the survival rate of patients with para-aortic lymph node metastasis.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To report on a case with homozygous deletion of large β gene cluster and its clinical characteristics.@*METHODS@#A total of 71 001 peripheral blood samples were subjected to capillary electrophoresis and conventional testing for common thalassemia mutations. The genotypes of suspected β gene cluster deletions were analyzed by Gap-PCR and multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA). Their hematological characteristics were compared by statistical analysis R software.@*RESULTS@#Eighty-nine cases were detected with Chinese @*CONCLUSION@#The carrier rate for large fragment deletions of β gene cluster in Huizhou region is rather high, for which the value of HbF is significantly increased. Attention should be paid to screening and diagnosis of rare genotype to prevent missed diagnosis and/or misdiagnosis.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore hematological and molecular characteristics of Hemoglobin Q-Thailand in Huizhou area of Guangdong Province.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>A total of 34 977 samples were screened by capillary and agarose gel electrophoresis. Samples suspected with HbQ strips were subjected to blood cell count and DNA sequencing. Twenty three common mutations associated with α- and β-thalassemia were identified by liquid phase chip and diversion hybridization technique.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The carrier rate of Hb Q-Thailand in Huizhou area was 0.13%. Pedigree analysis indicated that the Hb Q-Thailand allele is linked with a leftward single a-globin gene deletion (-α). Hematological index (HGB, MCV, MCH, HbA, HbA, HbQ) of 45 heterozygous carriers of Hb Q-Thailand were (130.25±17.37) g/L, (79.81±4.97) fl, (26.38±1.48) pg, (71.37±5.07)%, (1.65±0.45)%, (26.87±4.95)%, respectively. A statistical difference was also found in their hematological index of HbA and HbA compared with 408 heterozygous carriers of -α mutation (P<0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Hb Q-Thailand has a high detection rate in Huizhou area. The allele is mainly in a heterozygous status and linked with -α. The Hb Q strip can be detected by hemoglobin electrophoresis. When combined with other types of thalassemia, the heterozygotes will show unique hematological parameters.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To compare the curative effect of postoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) and radiation therapy (RT) alone on early-stage cervical cancer patients with intermediate-risk factors.@*Methods@#Clinical data of patients with early stage (ⅠB-ⅡA) cervical cancer who underwent radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy in Zhejiang Cancer Hospital between January 2008 and December 2011 were retrospectively analyzed. Cervical squamous cell carcinoma patients with more than two intermediate-risk factors, including lymphatic vascular infiltration, depth of cervical stromal infiltration >1/2 cm or tumor size >4 cm, were screened. Among them, 80 patients were divided into the RT group, 137 patients were divided into the CCRT group. The survivals of these patients were analyzed.@*Results@#At the end of the follow-up period, a total of 22 patients were dead, one patient was alive with neoplasm. There were 23 patients who occurred recurrence/ metastasis, 14 of them were in the RT group and 9 were in the CCRT group. The 5-year progression free survival (PFS) and 5-year overall survival (OS) rate of the entire cohort were 89.9% and 89.8%, respectively. The 5-year PFS rate of RT group was 82.4%, the 5-year PFS rate of CCRT group was 94.1%, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P=0.013). The 5-year OS rate of RT group was 85.1%, the 5-year OS rate of CCRT group was 92.7%, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P=0.049). Univariate analysis showed that therapeutic modality was associated with the 5-year DFS and OS of early-stage cervical cancer patients with intermediate-risk factors (P<0.05). The results of multivariate analysis showed that therapeutic modality was an independent prognostic factor of favorable PFS (RR=3.741, 95% CI: 1.506-9.289, P=0.004) and OS (RR=2.754, 95%CI=1.143-6.637, P=0.024). Neither of the two groups occurred severe anemia. However, the incidence of mild and moderate anemia in the CCRT group was higher than that of RT group (P<0.001). The incidence of leukocytopenia severer than grade Ⅲ in the CCRT group was significantly higher than that of RT group (P<0.001). However, the patients could recover quickly with the treatment of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor.@*Conclusion@#Postoperative CCRT improves the survival of early stage cervical cancer patients with two or more intermediate-risk factors.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the role of clinical pharmacists in pharmaceutical care for a pregnant patient with severe acute pancreatitis .Methods Clinical pharmacists participated in the treatments for one severe case of acute pancreatitis in preg-nancy .Based on the disease states and therapeutic results ,clinical pharmacists adjusted the drug regimen ,selected safer antibi-otics for pregnant patient and provided comprehensive pharmaceutical services for the patient .Results Clinical pharmacists provided individualized pharmaceutical care ,improved the clinical outcomes and reduced the adverse reactions .Conclusion Clinical pharmacists play an important role in improving the drug therapeutic outcome and monitoring the medication safety in specific group of patients .

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of metacycline and rifampicin in the patients with refractory brucellosis,and to provide evidence for clinical treatment.Methods From February 2013 to February 2016,sixty-five patients diagnosed refractory brucellosis at the Department of Infectious Diseases,Weifang People's Hospital were enrolled in this study.They were randomly divided into two groups,treatment group (33 cases) and control group (32 cases).Patients of treatment group were treated with metacycline joint rifampicin,and control group was treated with doxycycline hyclate,rifampicin and levofloxacin.After treatment for six weeks,the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were observed and data were analyzed.Results The effective rate in treatment group (96.97%,32/33) was significantly higher than that in control group (75.00%,24/32,x2 =4.86,P < 0.05).The incidence of gastrointestinal reactions in control group (37.50%,12/32) was much higher than that in treatment group (15.15%,5/33,x2 =4.20,P < 0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the incidence of liver damage,skin rash and leukopenia (x2 =0.49,0.00,1.62,P > 0.05).Conclusion The combined treatment metacycline and rifampicin is safe with high efficiency for patients with refractory brucellosis,and is worthy to be promoted.

ABSTRACT

The incidence of hepatitis C virus infection is commonly seen in patients with renal dysfunction (RD),especially those with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis (HD),among whom the incidence and mortality of liver diseases increase.The development of direct-acting antiviral agents has revolutionized the therapy for chronic hepatitis C (CHC) with a sustained virologic response rate of > 90% and a low rate of adverse events.Grazoprevir/elbasvir,paritaprevir/ritonavir + ombitasvir + dasabuvir,glecaprevir/pibrentasvir,or daclatasvir + asunaprevir regimen is recommended in CHC patients with RD and HD,while the sofosbuvir-based regimen is not recommended.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyse effects of psychological intervention combined with celecoxib and physiotherapy on vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis.Methods 134 patients with vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis were grouped into two groups.Two groups were treated with physiotherapy and celecoxib,observation group was treated another with psychological intervention.Results Total efficiency of observation group was higher than that of control group(P<0.05).After treatment,symptom score,CASCS score,mean blood flow velocity in left vertebral artery and right vertebral artery,TNF-α and IL-6 level of observation group were better than that of control group(all P<0.05).During treatment, there was no obvious adverse reaction in the two groups.Conclusion Sychological intervention can improve the therapeutic effect of patients with cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type.

AIM:To compare the effects of atorvastatin at different doses on the function of endothelial proge-nitor cells (EPCs) in the patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).METHODS:The patients of STEMI (n=40) were chosen.According to treatment with different doses of atorvastatin calcium tablet, they were randomly divided into a group of 20 mg and a group of 40 mg (20 cases in each group).The EPCs isolated from the patients were identified and quantitatively analyzed at different time points (before the treatment and on days 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60, 90 and 120 after the treatment) by flow cytometry.The surface markers of the EPCs, CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and silent information regulator 1 (SIRT1), were also detected.RESULTS:On the 5th day, the group of 40 mg demonstrated stronger cell proliferation capability and higher expression levels of CXCR4, VEGF and bFGF than the group of 20 mg (P<0.05).From the 10th day to 120th day, the group of 20 mg revealed stronger cell proliferation capability and higher expression levels of CXCR4, VEGF and bFGF than the group of 40 mg (P<0.05).Within 30 d, the expression of SIRT1 showed no significant diffe-rence between the 2 groups, yet it witnessed a marked change after that and peaked on the 60th day with a drop afterwards.At each time point, the SIRT1 expression level in the group 20 mg was observed higher than that in the group of 40 mg (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:In the acute phase, the repair function of the body treated with atorvastatin at dose of 40 mg is better than that with 20 mg.However, in a long term the low concentration of statin therapy works better in improving the vascular intima and promoting the angiogenesis than high concentration.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To study the relationship between cisplatin-resistant of human ovarian cancer cells (SKOV3) and Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) under hypoxia. METHODS:Immunofluorescence method was used to detect the TLR9 expression in rupture and intact membranes SKOV3. SKOV3 was taken,adding cisplatin,then CCK-8 was used to detect cell inhibition rate af-ter 6,12,24 h of added into TLR9 specific agonists CpG-ODN 2006 (group A) and its isotype control CpG-ODN 2006 control (group B). SKOV3 or SKOV3 pretreated by 0(not added),1,10,102,103 μmol/L TLR9 specific antagonist chloroquine for 3 h were taken,adding cisplatin,cell inhibition rate was detected after 24 h of added into SKOV3 normoxia(21% O2),hypoxia(1%O2)incubating 6,12,24 h,HICR under hypoxia in pretreatment was calculated. Western blot method was used to detect the multi-drug resistance associated protein(MRP)expression in SKOV3 under the conditions of normoxia 24 h cell supernatant(group C), hypoxia 24 h cell supernatant(group D),hypoxia 24 h cell supernatant+10 μmol/L chloroquine(group E). RESULTS:TLR9 was expressed in both cell membrane and cytoplasm of SKOV3. Compared with group A,cell inhibition rate in group B was decreased (P<0.01). Compared with normoxia cell supernatant,cell inhibition rate was decreased after hypoxia cell supernatant (P<0.05). Compared with not added chloroquine,adding 10,102 μmol/L chloroquine can obviously decrease HICR(P<0.01),and the most significant decrease was showed when using hypoxia 24 h cell supernatant+10 μmol/L chloroquine. Compared with group C,MRP expression in group D was strengthened (P<0.01);compared with group D,MRP expression in group E was weakened (P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:TLR9 receptors can be activated under hypoxia,and cause SKOV3 to cisplatin-resistance,the effect may be related with up-regulating MRP expression.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To explore the role of clinical pharmacists in the process of drug treatment for leukemia children with neutrophil deficiency complicated with fever (NDCF). METHODS:Clinical pharmacists participated in the treatment for a leuke-mia child with NDCF. Considering about continuous decrease of platelet accompanied by epistaxis,combined with age,clinical symptom,lab indexes and related guidelines,clinical pharmacists thought it was possibly associated with bone marrow induced by chemotherapy drugs and drug-induced hemorrhage induced by cefoperazone sodium and sulbactam sodium. It was suggested to stop using cefoperazone sodium and sulbactam sodium;use Meropenem for injection 1.0 g,ivgtt,q8 h instead for anti-infection;addi-tionally use Recombinant human thrombopoietin injection 15000 U,sc,qd for elevating platelet. During treatment,taking into ac-count the low levels of neutrophils(0.17×109 L-1)and platelets(11×109 L-1)in this child,it was recommended to continue anti-in-fection and elevating platelet treatment,and continue to use Lienal polypeptide injection to auxiliarily enhance hematopoietic func-tion. When the child's condition was stable and neutrophils returned to normal,it was successively recommended to stop elevating platelet and anti-infection treatment;at the same time,conduct pharmaceutical care as body temperature examination,related indi-cator examination (such as routine blood test) and ADR monitoring,etc. RESULTS:Physicians adopted the clinical pharmacist's suggestions. The body temperature of the child was decreased,the hemogram recovered gradually,no infection occurred,and the next round of chemotherapy was successfully carried out. CONCLUSIONS:The clinical pharmacists participate in drug treatment for leukemia children with NDCF,pay attention to the prevention,diagnosis and treatment of drug-induced disease,and make com-prehensive analysis by using their own professional advantage,taking the possible effects of drugs on blood system,pharmacody-namics and pharmacokinetic characteristics as the breakthrough point,combing with the specific situation of children's age and ill-ness;assist physicians to formulate and optimize drug therapy plan so as to guarantee safe and effective drug use.

BACKGROUND:A high incidence of deep vein thrombosis after total hip replacement does great harm to patients,so it is necessary to look for a safe and effective prevention program after total hip replacement to reduce the harm of deep vein thrombosis.OBJECTIVE:To observe the influence of comprehensive prevention scheme on deep vein thrombosis after total hip replacement.METHODS:102 cases undergoing total hip replacement were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 51 cases in each group.Patients in the observation group received the comprehensive prevention program,which is composed of three interventions: sequential cross combined with low molecular heparin,intermittent pneumatic pressure therapy and continuous femoral nerve block analgesia.In the control group,patients received low-molecular-weight heparin for anticoagulation therapy by the doctor according to his clinical experience,or intermittent pneumatic pressure therapy.The occurrence and distribution of deep vein thrombosis were compared in patients of both groups.At the same time,platelet and hemoglobin were recorded.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In the observation group,three patients suffered from deep vein thrombosis with an incidence of 6%.In the control group,11 patients affected deep vein thrombosis,with an incidence of 22%.There were significant differences between the two groups (P< 0.05).No significant difference in constituent ratio of the distribution of deep vein thrombosis was detected in the distal vein and proximal vein in patients of both groups (P> 0.05).Hemoglobin value was lower at 1 day after surgery compared with that pre-operation in the two groups (P<0.05).Platelet value was lower at 1 day after surgery compared with that pre-operation in the two groups (P>0.05).No significant difference in hemoglobin and platelet values was detected between two groups at 1 and 6 days after surgery (P> 0.05).Results indicated that the comprehensive prevention program containing the sequential and cross combined with low molecular heparin,intermittent pneumatic pressure therapy and continuous femoral nerve block analgesia can significantly reduce the incidence of deep vein thrombosis,and no serious complications occurred,and the effects are affirmative and reliable.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of goserelin combined with marvelon in treatment of en -dometriosis(EM)and its effect on estrogen levels .Methods 120 EM patients were randomly divided into the ob-servation group(60 cases)and the control group(60 cases)according to the digital table.Two groups underwent laparoscopy .3.6 mg sustained release goserelin was injected subcutaneously from the anterior abdominal wall once every four weeks on the first time of menses recovery .The treatment continued during the following six months.The observation group were treated with marvelon on the basis of this , 1 tablet each day, 21 days of con-tinuous treatment and then began to take medicine on the 5 th day of the next menstruation during the following six months.The two groups were followed up for two years .The level of luteinizing hormone(LH), follicle-stimula-ting hormone(FSH)and estradiol(E2), the cumulative pregnancy rate, recurrence rate and peri menopausal sta-tus of the two groups were observed before and after treatment .Results The total effective rate was 96.67%and 83.33%respectively for the observation group and the control group .The difference had statistical significance (P0.05).Conclusion Goserelin combined with marvel-on can effectively improve the effect of laparoscopic surgery in treatment of endometriosis , lower estrogen level , improve patients'pregnancy rate , and reduce the recurrence rate .

ABSTRACT

Objective To determine the effects of Hyperoside ( Hyp) on the memory impairment induced by hypobaric hypoxia. Meth-ods SD rats were exposed in hypobaric hypoxia chamber which simulated 6 100 m high altitude for 7 days to induce memory impairment. Morris maze was applied to determine the effects of Hyp on memory in hypobaric chamber. The activities of SOD and CAT and levels of GSH and MDA in rat hippocampus were measured by assay kit ( Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute) . Results In target quadrant,the time and path and the frequency to cross platform were reduced under hypobaric hypoxia as compared with normoxia group ( P < 0. 05 or P<0. 01). Administration of Hyp significantly attenuated the hypoxia-induced the memory impairment responses(P<0. 05 or P<0. 01). The activities of SOD and CAT in rats hippocampus exposed to hypobaric hypoxia were significantly improved in the presence of Hyp as com-pared with the absence of Hyp(P<0. 05 or P<0. 01),so did GSH level (P<0. 05 or P<0. 01). Significant decrease of MDA levels was observed in the hippocampus on exposure to hypobaric hypoxia with Hyp as compared without Hyp. Conclusion Hyp reduces hypoxia-in-duced oxidative stress injury by upregulating activity of antioxidant proteins such as SOD,CAT in hippocampus of rats, which contribute to at-tenuate memory impairment induced by hypobaric hypoxia.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of the nerve bow (digital nerve and cutaneous antebrachii later-als) with end-to-side neuroanastomosis and traditional end-to-end neuroanastomosis for repairing bilateral proper digital nerve inju-ries while replanting injured fingers. Methods A total of 57 patients with bilateral proper digital nerve injuries from March 2009 to September 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into three groups according to different treatments:19 patients underwent nerve graft bow end-to-side neuroanastomosis. During operation, a cutaneous antebrachii laterals nerve was freed and obtained from the homolateral forearm, which were sutured with bilateral distal digital nerve end to end, then nerve bow was formed. The bilateral proximal ends of digital nerve were sutured end-to-side bow, respectively. 22 patients underwent digital nerve bow end-to-side neuroanastomosis. During operation, bilateral distal ends and proximal ends were sutured respectively;con-sequently, the distal and proximal nerve bows were formed. A cutaneous antebrachii laterals nerve was obtained from the homolat-eral forearm, then divided equally to 2 parts which were used to bridge the 2 nerve digital nerve bow end-to-side neuroanastomosis bows. 16 patients underwent nerve graft with end-to-end neuroanastomosis. The sensation of finger plup, two point discrimination and motion of joints were evaluated. Results All patients achieved primary healing of wound after operation, with 57 fingers re-covered uneventfully. In nerve graft bow end-to-side neuroanastomosis group, 18 patients were followed up for 3-15 months;the average result of sensation measurement was S3+;the average result of two point discrimination was 5.1±0.8 mm. In digital nerve bow end-to-side neuroanastomosis group, 19 patients were followed up for 4-15 months;the average result of sensation measure-ment was S3; the average result of two point discrimination was 6.3 ± 0.9 mm. In nerve graft with end-to-end neuroanastomosis group, 12 patients were followed up for 3-14 months;the average result of sensation measurement was S2, the average result of two point discrimination was 7.2±1.4 mm. According to total active motion scales, there had no difference in results of motion of joints in the 3 groups. Conclusion The nerve bow end-to-side neuroanastomosis is valuable method for repairing bilateral proper digi-tal nerve injuries at the same time, which can restore sensation of fingers.
